Kincardine Homes For Sale

Kincardine, Ontario

Kincardine is a municipality along Lake Huron featuring Station Beach, a harbour with a lighthouse museum, the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band parades on Saturday evenings in summer, the Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games each July, and the Bluewater Summer Playhouse (the only professional live theatre in Bruce County).

Kincardine, which is the name of the municipality and its largest town, is located south of Southampton and Port Elgin. The Bruce Power nuclear power plant has dominated the area’s economy since the 1970s, but there is also a thriving tourist industry focused on the area’s beaches and Scottish heritage.

Every evening (except Saturdays) in the summer, the "Phantom Piper" pipes at sunset at the lighthouse and harbour. On Saturday evenings, the Kincardine Scottish Pipe Band marches down Queen Street and back again to perform in Victoria Park, followed by a crowd of tourists and locals. The band welcomes all pipers and drummers who happen to be in town that evening.

The award-winning Kincardine Scottish Festival & Highland Games celebrate all things Scottish. It features three days and nights of music, competitions for Highland athletes and dancers, cultural workshops where people can trace their ancestry, and boasts over 30 pipe bands from across Canada and the United States.

In addition to the town of Kincardine itself, the municipality also includes the smaller communities of Armow, Baie du Dore, Bervie, Glammis, Inverhuron, Millarton, North Bruce, Tiverton, and Underwood.
